It Takes A Village

There are so many people making a difference in the lives of Columbia refugee families.  Today I saw interns working on laptops, volunteers sorting donations, volunteers manning the front desk and staff members buzzing around the office.

Every person in our community has a unique skill and can make a difference at the City of Refuge.  My skill set right now is capacity building.  I get to use my "gift of gab" to foster community engagement.  Someone else has come up quite a bit in conversation around the office.  I am excited to share a bit about this person because music is very near and dear to my heart.  Below is a Facebook post about how this man is making a difference with music!

We love it when members of our community offer their unique gifts as a way to serve our families. In addition to meeting with his English buddy, Aaron Finkel teaches piano lessons to four of our young friends every week. And he has his sights set on offering a small violin studio next fall!
Stay tuned (see what we did there?) for more news on that this summer!
Thank you, Aaron!
If you have a talent you'd like to share, we'd love to hear about it! Reach out at info@cityofrefugecolumbia.org to chat!

Do you have a passion for math?  Are you skilled on the computer?  Do you have a musical talent?  There is a good chance that you can help in some capacity.  Please reach out.  You can make a difference in lives.

And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jude 1:22 KJV
