A Collaboration of Non-Profits

Yesterday was another busy day in the life of this VISTA.  I had the pleasure of meeting with two other non-profits, Compass (Music) Inc. and the Day Dreams Foundation.

Compass Inc. is comprised of some fabulous and passionate music lovers who want to share their talents with aspiring musicians from our community.  I had the privilege of touring their new facility, where the fresh paint smell still wafted in the air.  There is something magical about walking through new construction; you can almost hear the sounds of the instruments and the excitement of children's voices!  Compass Inc. will have a music listening room, practice rooms and even rooms for mixing music!  I loved seeing the enthusiasm on the faces of the staff/board members as they told us their plans, their hopes and their dreams for what Compass would do in our community.  I am excited for their grand opening and for the re-launch of their music camps now that COVID is no longer in pandemic mode.

The Day Dreams Foundation was also represented at that meeting. I can't say enough about what this non-profit does in our community.  Their goal is to eliminate any financial barriers that would keep children from doing activities like sports, music, and more.  How fitting that the City of Refuge, Compass Inc., and the Day Dreams Foundation were all represented!

My hope and dream is that some of our families will get scholarships and then be able to obtain discounted music lessons for their children or adults.  Music can be so soothing and many of our families have endured too much trauma in their lifetimes.  As a teen, I can remember working off stress or frustration by sitting down at the piano and practicing endlessly.  Music is a gift and these good folks are eager to share that with our families.

And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jude 1:22 KJV
