The people of Columbia have such big hearts! It is no surprise that the children of Columbia have big hearts as well. Once again, Candace has done such an amazing job as school liaison to our community. Not only does she assist parents with school related issues, but she also makes herself available to the schools in our community. I have lost track of how many times she has presented our nonprofit to schools in our area. It is overwhelming to see the generosity and enthusiasm of Columbia families.

You may remember the group of Kayah children who performed at last summer’s World Refugee Day celebration. A Fairview EL teacher who saw their performance reached out to us and invited them to be a part of the evening’s activities.
The students dressed in their traditional costumes and demonstrated a cultural dance that has been passed down from generations for centuries in Karenni State, Myanmar.
Our school liaison, Candace, gave a presentation about City of Refuge and the work that we do. In addition, the incredible people at Fairview gathered in-kind and financial donations to our organization.
We are feeling the love!
