Today I wanted to spotlight a fun event that involved children. I love to hear stories about children getting involved with helping others; it also teaches them to think of others in an "outside-of-the-box" kind of way. Candace, our school liaison, has so much fun attending school events as she presents our unique ministry opportunities. Our next generation has such a heart for others and that is so encouraging!
Huge thanks to the fourth and fifth graders at Christian Chapel Academy for featuring City of Refuge at your Missions Fair on March 15!
Prior to the fair, our school liaison, Candace, met with the students by Zoom to share about our organization and the refugee experience. She told them about our yearly Back to School Drive and the needs of the families we serve. The students then collected over $1,000 and took a field trip to Kohl’s, where they used those donations to purchase new shoes and brand new back-to-school outfits for students of all ages.
On the night of the Missions Fair, the students shared a presentation about City of Refuge with an audience of parents, pastors, and school staff, explaining the mission of our organization and what they did to help.
THANK YOU, Christian Chapel Academy for supporting our new neighbors in this way and for sharing our mission with your community. We are so grateful for your partnership!
And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jude 1:22 KJV
