Meet JJ Angelo, one of our Spring 2022 interns!
JJ is a Junior studying Psychology and Spanish at the University of Missouri. He heard about City of Refuge through friends he had that were also working as interns. We asked JJ to share a little about his internship and what interested him in City of Refuge.
“City of Refuge interested me because of their emphasis on service and meeting needs regardless of what they are. Their mission matches up with my personal mission.
I hope one day to work with international missions teams in a counseling role or do counseling for refugees and immigrants. I think my experience with City of Refuge will translate perfectly to my future aspirations.
Refugee care is both a joyous and patient task. With the language barrier, communication can be trying but the love refugees feel from simply being a helping hand is worthwhile.”
