Graduation at the City

Hello and happy, rainy Friday!  I have been a bit under the weather so I thought that I would share a blurb from Jessie today.  She is our resident social media queen and also our resident doula (assists new moms in everything from prenatal care to postnatal care).

Cultivating a sense of importance. 👏
At City of Refuge, we take every opportunity we can to recognize the achievements of the friends we serve. That’s why you’ll find us spotlighting refugee-owned businesses and sharing stories of resilience with our community. As we walk alongside these friends, we see the tremendous amount of work it takes to adjust to life in a new country and culture. We want to support and applaud their accomplishments every chance that we get!
One of the ways that we have celebrated is our high school graduation party. Last year, we hosted our graduating seniors for a time of recognition as they accomplished overcoming many obstacles to earn their diplomas. We recognize the unique challenges these students face and took this time to cheer them on as they finished high school and moved on to what lies ahead.
THANK YOU for the part your support plays in cultivating this sense of esteem and importance. 💛

And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jude 1:22 KJV
