When people currently think about refugees, Ukraine is usually the first country that comes to mind.  We are bombarded with news media coverage about the plight of the Ukrainians; this has caused people to reach out to inquire about helping Ukrainian refugees.  I read in the news the other day that the first wave of "independent" refugees has reached our southern border.  For now, quite a few European countries are hosting the millions of displaced Ukrainians until the outcome of this war is realized.  Once countries know how the story will end, hard choices will be made.  I am hoping that the Ukrainians will be able to go home at some point, but for now, there are a few things that we can do.

However, there are now many scams about how to help the people of Ukraine.  Be smart and be aware because there will always be opportunistic scammers out to take money from kindhearted people
