A Story About One of Our Refugees

Today's blog post is about one of the many refugees helped by City of Refuge.  Barry and Lori (Director and Care Coordinator respectively) are amazing people with a passion to help the refugees in our community.  They personally help several of our friends endeavoring to start and run businesses.  I love to hear Barry and Lori talk about these businesses; there is such pride for the people that are helped.  Starting a business is a scary but brave thing to do but probably doubly so if the entrepreneur is in a foreign culture and country.

Mahinga Tubirore is one of these brave souls; his family runs the African Market off of Old Hwy 63.  His family is from Congo and they tired of making trips to St. Louis where the nearest African Market was located.  After our weather clears, I am excited to go visit his store and check out the fun ethnic foods that he sells.  From the article, it sounds like his wife is an amazing woman as well.
