Meet David Echols

I have the highest regard for Barry, our Director, and Lori, his wife and also a Care Coordinator at City.  They are always so busy because the flow of traffic in the door is staggeringly high; so many of our new friends need help.  I am not sure how they juggle so many things, but this duo do an amazing job.  However,  Barry and Lori needed help.

Recently the City of Refuge hired a new employee, David.  I thought that I would share a Facebook post so that you could meet him.  I had the privilege of meeting with him and sharing some of the behind the scenes work that I do; my hope is that appropriate documentation will help his transition be a bit more accelerated.

David has quickly jumped in with both feet and is already making new friends as he helps refugees with problems like signing up for food stamps (SNAP) and other important benefits.  His technical background has already played a role in helping with things in the office.  The other day he popped his head into our office to recommend a book to read; I think that several of us immediately browsed Amazon for the title!

Meet the newest member of our team!
We are excited to introduce our new Refugee Care Coordinator, David Echols. Hear a little directly from David:
"My family recently returned to the USA after living in Namibia, Africa for the past 12 years. Throughout this time overseas our love for engaging new cultures and our passion for walking with the marginalized have become central to our lives.
I am excited for this opportunity and looking forward to meeting and building relationships with refugees in my new city. I know crossing cultures and building a home in a foreign country can be difficult and am thrilled to be joining City of Refuge in serving our new neighbors."

And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jude 1:22 KJV
